Event description:
Join the San Diego Area Middle Eastern Dance Association (SAMEDA) for a day of dazzling performances, music, shopping, food, henna artists, and exciting workshops for the whole family. A portion of the event proceeds will benefit the San Diego USO.

SAMEDA's goal with the annual Faire is to create an entertaining and educational experience for performers, artists, and the community, and this year's event promises to deliver that and more. Having outgrown its original space, the SAMEDA Faire is in the Scottish Rite Center's Corinthian Ballroom, with more vendors and more seating. Performers, musicians, and vendors travel from all over the continent to participate in this feast for the senses. Dancers mesmerize fairgoers with their undulating hips, skilled finger cymbals, and exquisite costumes, while musicians tantalize with Middle Eastern melodies and rhythms. International vendors bring their offerings of exotic décor items, jewelry, costumes, clothing, fabrics, music, perfumes, sequins, and sparkling beads from countries like Egypt, Morocco, Turkey, and India. Delicious ethnic foods prepared from the freshest ingredients are available to savor and enjoy. There also are chances to win fantastic raffle prizes donated by SAMEDA members, vendors, and local and national businesses. Be sure to bring family, friends, and coworkers to this electrifying event.

SAMEDA is donating a portion of the proceeds of this special event to the San Diego USO. The USO offers support and entertainment to the largest population of active-duty service members and their families in the United States, extending a sense of comfort in an unfamiliar place. The San Diego USO receives no financial support from the U.S. government and depends entirely on the generosity of the American people.
